WATCH: Brooks, Blue and Hassett Monmouth postgame press conference + Rapid Reaction

Kentucky got a huge win over Monmouth, beating them 104-46 as the team shot 17-36 from deep. Lexi Blue specifically shot 6-7 from three-point range — her best outing as a Wildcat thus far.

Following the 58-point victory, she joined Kenny Brooks and Amelia Hassett for the postgame press conference. Blue was asked about how her confidence seemed to be on point against the Hawks, and she gives the credit for that to her teammates.

“Freshman year was freshman year,” Blue said regarding how she’s gotten more comfortable from last year to now. “I have people along the way that just helped me and assisted me, and I have great teammates and coaches that just poured into me every day, and that’s helped my confidence.”

Brooks added to what Blue said, noting that she’s the definition of a gym rat. Her hard work is paying off.

“She’s the first one in, last one out,” Brooks noted. “Whether she plays a minute, two minutes, 10 minutes, 20 minutes, she’s always asking coaches the next day for film. And she plays a minute, she must watch film of that minute. I applaud her because she wants to play. She never hung her head, never complained, and she is very business like, and I was extremely excited for her to see the ball go in the basket.”
