WATCH: KSR's Rapid Reaction to Kentucky WBB's first loss of the season
Kenny Brooks and Kentucky have officially lost their first game of the 2024-25 season.
No. 16 North Carolina beat the Cats 72-53 in Chapel Hill — a dominant effort from the Tar Heels from start to finish. They got out to a 21-6 lead in the first quarter, and Kentucky was just never able to catch back up.
Clara Strack, who had just four points on the night on 2-10 (0-1 3PT) shooting, was dealt two fouls very early into the game, and a result, she only played 25 minutes on Thursday night. It looked like Georgia Amoore would have a big night considering her 10 points at the half, but those 10 points would be all she would score.
Teonni Key had just seven points on the night, and postgame, Brooks revealed that he noticed that the 6-foot-4 forward was a bit off today, attributing it to her return to Carmichael Arena.

Dazia Lawrence led the team with 17 points, and Amelia Hassett put up a 13-point, 13-rebound double-double as she sank four of her eight shots from the three point line. Kentucky was served a slice of humble pie by the Tar Heels, but they were never going to win them all.
Time to regroup and (hopefully) head into conference play with just one loss.
