111012_woodyard_inside Congrats to former Cat Wesley Woodyard, who was voted one of the Denver Bronco's team captains for the fifth consecutive season. Woodyard is also writing a blog for DenverBroncos.com this season, and in his first entry, he talks about getting married over the offseason, the honor of being voted team captain, and his switch from weakside linebacker to middle linebacker. Woodyard says he's excited for the move, and it'll be the first time he's played middle linebacker since his time at Kentucky:
I’m excited about the move. I feel like it’s a good change. Being able to play more positions allows our defense to do bigger and better things. I've never played middle linebacker in the NFL before. Last time I played middle linebacker was freshman year of college. I moved from safety to middle linebacker to outside linebacker at Kentucky, so it’s going to be exciting to see it for myself out there for the Broncos in the middle.
Who will move into his old spot at weakside linebacker? None other than fellow former Cat Danny Trevathan, who is listed at the top of the depth chart at the position after an impressive rookie season. The Broncos start their season at home on Thursday night against the Baltimore Ravens. Keep making us proud, boys.
