Where Koby Brea, Otega Oweh stand in post-Combine NBA Mock Drafts

The 2025 NBA Draft Combine wrapped up on Sunday in Chicago. The actual draft is still over a month away, but the deadline for college-eligible players to make a decision is just nine days away on May 28. More workouts will be had this week as Kentucky’s Otega Oweh decides whether to keep his name in the draft pool or return for his senior season in Lexington.
After a pair of impressive performances during last week’s scrimmage portion of the Combine, Oweh certainly stood out amongst his peers, but was it enough to boost his stock and land his name on any major mock drafts? Not exactly. A handful of new mocks have been released since Sunday, including notable projections from ESPN, Bleacher Report, and Sports Illustrated.
Oweh is only mentioned in one of them. SI has the 6-foot-5 guard going No. 58 overall to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The other two outlets did not mention his name. Keep in mind there are only 59 picks in this year’s draft.
Plenty of national media members still expect Oweh to ultimately return, considering the money he’d make at UK in 2025-26 would be leaps and bounds more than anything he’d get contract-wise as a second-round or undrafted prospect. Mark Pope said he’d be the favorite to win SEC Player of the Year if he does come back. It’s not a done deal by any means, but financially, running it back in college makes more sense for Oweh.

What about Koby Brea? The sharpshooting 6-foot-7 guard is out of college eligibility and is hoping to hear his name called in the two-round draft. He’s consistently been the lone Kentucky player mentioned in mock drafts since March, and that did not change in the latest batch of updates. Here is where the three outlets mentioned above have Brea landing:
- ESPN: No. 54 | Indiana Pacers
- Bleacher Report: No. 43 | Utah Jazz
- Sports Illustrated: No. 55 | Los Angeles Lakers
Brea was good, but not great, in his two Combine scrimmages. He struggled to shoot the ball in his first outing, but was much improved in game two. Brea went for 16 points (6-12 FG, 4-8 3PT), five rebounds, one assist, and two turnovers in 30 minutes during his second scrimmage. That, coupled with a good performance in the shooting drills portion of the event, was enough to keep him in the second-round range.
Other former Wildcats such as Amari Williams, Jaxson Robinson, Andrew Carr, and Lamont Butler were not mentioned in any of these mocks. Global Scouting, a smaller — but still reputable — outlet compared to the ones above, has Williams going 55th overall to the Lakers and Brea going 50th overall to the New York Knicks.
The 2025 NBA Draft is set for June 25-26 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.
