In his SEC notebook, Jason King of Rivals takes
a look at what he calls the "Mild Cats" and the lack of toughness displayed by this season's team. According to King, the group of freshmen suiting up for Calipari last season had mental toughness that could carry them through rough stretches of the schedule and respond to hostile road environments. Despite that criticism, though, King still places the Cats atop the SEC, which is essentially the giant turd in the conference punch bowl at this point. SEC East leaders and UK's weekend opponent, South Carolina, are ranked seventh.
