Who are the new guys?

At least three new names recently made their way onto John Calipari's recruiting board, joining the remaining targets in the 2015 class and several prospects in 2016. Of the new guys, one is a graduate transfer with one season of immediate eligibility, another is a high school senior who is hearing from Kentucky for the first time, and the other is a rising star in the 2016 class. Let's get to know them tonight because, who knows, they very well may become Wildcats.   *****

Mike Thorne Jr.

Position: Center Height: 6-11 Weight: 270 Hometown: Fayetteville, N.C. Previous school: Charlotte 49ers Remaining eligibility: One season, immediately Also considering: Pittsburgh, Illinois and Kansas Fun Facts: -- He averaged 10.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game for Charlotte this past season. -- He will graduate next month as a redshirt junior, therefore he will be eligible to play immediately as a graduate transfer. -- He has a scholarship offer from Kentucky. -- He visited Pittsburgh over the weekend. He has visits scheduled to Illinois and Kansas in the week ahead, with a visit to Kentucky to come after that. -- Playing time is a major factor in his decision, considering he has only one year of college basketball remaining. -- Coming out of high school in 2011, he had offers from Coastal Carolina, Citadel, College of Charleston, High Point, James Madison, Tulane, Winthrop and Marquette. Dazon Ingram

Position: Shooting Guard Height: 6-5 Weight: 183 Hometown: Theodore, AL Class of 2015 Also considering: Alabama, Houston and UAB Fun Facts: -- He is Alabama's Mr. Basketball and a two-time AL.com Coastal Alabama Player of the Year. He averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists his senior season with 19 double-doubles and two triple-doubles. -- He was committed to Alabama, then decommitted when Anthony Grant was fired. He signed scholarship papers in the fall but never submitted his Letter of Intent. -- Alabama is still a contender. He recently met with new head coach, Avery Johnson, and the visit went really well. -- Johnson told him he will be the starting point guard for the Tide next season. -- He had planned to announce his new decision earlier today, believed to be a re-commitment to Alabama. However, he postponed the announcement after receiving a phone call from John Calipari. -- He retweets a lot. You can follow him at @DrGetBuckets12 but, man, he sure does have a happy RT finger. -- He is only a three-star recruit in the 2015 class, ranked 183rd overall by 247Sports and unranked in both the Rivals and ESPN class rankings. He is the 60th best shooting guard, according to 247.

Jamal Murray

Position: Shooting Guard Height: 6-5 Weight: 180 Hometown: Toronto, ON Class of 2016 Also considering: Oregon, Syracuse Missouri, Michigan and Michigan State, among others Fun Facts: -- He is the No. 7 shooting guard in the 2016 class, according to 247Sports. Rivals lists him as a point guard and the 16th overall prospect in the class. -- He played with Thon Maker at Orangeville Prep in Ontario. (That doesn't seem fair.) -- He shined at the Nike Hoop Summit this past weekend, helping lead the World Team to a victory over the United States. He scored a game-high 30 points and dished out five assists in the win. -- Kentucky had contacted him before, but reached out again after his breakout performance in Portland. -- Duke is gaining interest.
