Who the heck are these guys?

jeff_ginnan.jpeg tony_cooper.jpeg michael_parks.jpeg skip_mcgaw.jpeg I pride myself on knowning a thing or two about Kentucky basketball. If you ask me a question about the Cats post about 1984, then generally I tend to have a pretty good idea about the answer. A few weeks ago I was perusing Jon Scott's website and looking at some UK players from an oft-forgotten era.....the last year of Eddie Sutton and the first season of Rick Pitino, and well....I realized that there were a lot of guys on Kentucky's roster that I didnt know even existed. Look at those pictures above....the names of these former hardwood legends are of course Jeff Ginnan, Tony Cooper, Michael Parks and Skip McGaw. Not exactly the Unforgettables huh? Each of these four actually scored points at UK....Ginnan had 1, Cooper had 6, Parks 3 and McGaw two. Together then, they combined for 12 points....which is a lot more than I ever scored for UK. And they each are from interesting places.....Ginnan is from Beatyville (which means he must like woolyworms) and transferred from my alma mater, Transylvania, Cooper was straight out of Georgia, Parks played at Breckinridge County (but not as good as a couple of Mattingly brothers) and McGaw was the pride of North Hopkins High School. Before a few weeks ago, Mosley and I had combined heard of two of these players, me being familiar with Parks and he, McGaw. But Cooper and Ginnan were completely out of nowhere. So I throw this out there to UK nation.....do you remember these guys? Is there anything about their careers (each for one season) that was noteworthy? A good story maybe....a funny anecdote. Help me out here......I want to have a Skip McGaw tribute show or a Michael Parks annual golf tournament. Maybe we can have the Tony Cooper Mexican Soccer Report or the Jeff Ginnan Pick Em Contest. But I gotta know......who the heck are these guys?
