In response to many inquiries by UK fans since its launch a few years ago, the popular “Wildcat Legends” Fine Art Series will unveil its latest tribute print to one of the program’s greatest and most popular players, when 3-time Kentucky All-American & All-time Free Throw Percentage Co-Leader, Kyle Macy, will be honored. Macy’s “Art Release Ceremony” will be held this Saturday, February 17th, immediately before the UK-Alabama game. The event will be in the Lexington Center mall foodcourt, (adjacent to Rupp Arena), from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm, prior to the 2:00 pm tip-off. The event is hosted by Your Frame Of Mind Galleries, and Kyle will be on hand to autograph this beautiful new action print of him for all fans, regardless if they have tickets to the game or not. A 3-time All-American, SEC Player Of The Year, and Academic All-American, Kyle led his team to the 1978 National Championship with his cunning and precise point-guard play. In addition and equally impressive, Macy was clutch at the free throw line; the greatest example of this is depicted in his new art: In the ’78 Mideast Regional Final versus Michigan State and freshman sensation Earvin “Magic” Johnson, down the stretch in a tight game and with a trip to the Final Four at stake, Kyle was repeatedly fouled and put on the line for 1-and-1 pressure-packed free throws. All were converted — including the final 2 with only 8 seconds left — to secure the 3-point win. These were arguably the most important and consequential free throws of not only his life, but to a Kentucky basketball program which had not won a championship in 20 years. All the pressure in the world, and he nailed them! The following weekend, Kyle led the ‘Cats to 2 more big wins and the NCAA title in St. Louis’ historic Checkerdome arena. For this and many other examples of his great play and leadership, Kyle Macy is one of our most beloved stars, and yes — a “Wildcat Legend”. Featured “Wildcat Legends” Honorees from previous seasons are Dan Issel, Mike Pratt, Tony Delk, Kevin Grevey, Jack Givens, Kenny Walker, Jeff Sheppard and Coach Joe B. Hall. A special edition print of Coach Adolph Rupp’s still-living All-Americans was also just released last fall. “Wildcat Legends” is a collectible series of Fine Art prints from original, individual player paintings by national sports artist and Kentucky native David Bryan Blondell, honoring living UK stars from the 60’s through the 90’s. Each star’s individual art print features a compilation of action poses of him during his time in the Big Blue uniform. Fans may choose to collect any one or all. Reasonably-priced at $35 signed ($20 unsigned), the 11” x 17” high-quality Limited Edition fine art prints will be numbered and signed by Macy; only 500 commemorative prints of him will be produced. Brought to you by “Your Frame of Mind Galleries” in Lexington, get additional details and upcoming release dates on their website: www.YourFrameOfMind.biz or on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/yourframeofmind All the prints from the “Wildcat Legends” series are available EXCLUSIVELY at their two Lexington locations. — See you Saturday!
