Wildcats in a Bowl Game: Where could they be headed?

With the football season coming to a close, one SEC road game and hopefully an easy last win at home, it's time to start thinking about where the Wildcats could potentially end up for a bowl game this year. Fans have been waiting for this moment since Kentucky played in the BBVA Compass Bowl in January 2011, a 27-10 loss to Pittsburgh in the Joker Era. So where should fans be booking their hotels? Let's take a look at some possibilities: Liberty Bowl in Memphis vs. Texas Both Jason Kirk of SB Nation as well as Campus Insiders are currently predicting that the Wildcats will play against the Texas Longhorns in the Liberty Bowl. The last time the Cats played in the Liberty Bowl was in 2009 with a 25-19 win over East Carolina. The Longhorns have a 5-4 records and are ranked 7th in the Big 12, gaining a wining record yesterday in their 45-37 win over Texas Tech. Music City Bowl in Nashville vs. Iowa The Bleacher Report is favoring a matchup between Iowa and Kentucky in the Music City Bowl, a Kentucky favorite. The Wildcats have a 2-2 record in the Music City Bowl, so it would be nice to head back down and avenge the 2009 loss, 21-13 to Clemson. Like Texas, the Hawkeyes have a 5-4 record on the season after a loss to No. 20 Penn State yesterday. They are ranked 5th in the Big 10 conference. Independence Bowl in Shreveport vs. N.C. State According to CBS Sports' most recent update to their predictions, Kentucky could be headed further south to Shreveport, Louisiana for the Independence Bowl. The Wildcats have never played in the Independence Bowl so it could be a nice change of scenery for the team and fans alike. And looking at it, the 'Cats could have a better advantage over the N.C. State Wolfpack than either of the other possible opponents. The Wolfpack are 4-5 on the season and are ranked 6th in the Atlantic Division. They have three more games to play this season against Syracuse, Miami (Fl) and North Carolina.   So where will the Wildcats end up?
