Wildcats move up in ESPN's SEC Power Rankings

Kentucky is no longer at the bottom of the SEC, according to ESPN. The Wildcats moved up one spot in the company's SEC rankings after last week's win over Kent State, finishing ahead of the 0-2 Vandy Commodores.
13. Kentucky (1-1; LW: 14): Saturday's 47-14 win against Kent State was huge. If the Wildcats are going to make it back to the postseason, they will need to win the remainder of their nonconference games after dropping the opener to Louisville. Maxwell Smith was also very impressive, passing for 354 yards and four touchdowns. The defense needs to continue to grow before SEC play and will get a chance to fine-tune things against Western Kentucky on Saturday.
Because of an absolutely brutal schedule, t's going to be tough for Kentucky to make the postseason after the opening loss against to the Cardinals. Taking advantage of the lower quality teams that they play in SEC is going to have to be the name of the game for the Wildcats .The first step was getting a win under their belt, and they did that. Cats now just have to take it one game at a time.
