Before ever stepping foot in Atlanta, Will Levis has become the center of controversy. It’s not because of Levis’ actions. Some believe he will be an NFL quarterback and one of the most talented passers in the conference. Others aren’t buying it.

On the SEC Network set Tim Tebow ranked Will Levis as the conference’s No. 2 quarterback, trailing only reigning Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. On that same set a few hours later, Jordan Rodgers rained on the Kentucky quarterback’s parade, questioning if he can take the next step without Liam Coen and Wan’Dale Robinson.

Nobody has watched Levis spin it more recently than Jim Nagy. A former NFL scout and the executive director of the Senior Bowl, Nagy made the short drive from Mobile to watch the Kentucky quarterback compete at the Manning Passing Academy. With about 50 of the nation’s top passers competing, two players separated themselves from the rest of the pack, Florida’s Anthony Richardson and Will Levis.

“Will’s got all the tools. You look back at last year’s draft process and the same reasons people love Malik Willis are gonna be the same reason they love Will. He’s a big strong guy, he’s got a strong arm, he’s mobile. He’s not quite as mobile as Malik was, but he can still move around, buy time and create second chances. It’s all that stuff. And he can throw with touch,” said Nagy.

“There’s a lot of good stuff on tape. You just want to see it come together more consistently, which I’m sure it will. His second full year in the system, we’re excited to see what this fall looks like.”

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Monday afternoon Michael Bratton stirred up a storm on the Paul Finebaum Show. Better known as “SEC Mike” of That SEC Podcast, a show Adam Luckett and I often appear as guests, he came to the SEC Network swinging. His criticism caught the eye of Vince Marrow.

Today KSR caught up with SEC Mike. He dug in his heels, but not without a challenge from KSR.

Even though the National Champions will be representing their school in their home state, Will Levis will likely be the center of attention tomorrow at the College Football Hall of Fame. The takes will be flying fast and furiously. How will QB1 handle the praise and criticism? We will find out when the Kentucky football team arrives in Atlanta around lunchtime.
