Screen Shot 2015-06-09 at 9.32.22 AM Yesterday, Willie Cauley-Stein worked out for the Denver Nuggets, who have the 7th and 57th picks in the NBA Draft. In addition to showing off his moves and a hairstyle that's going to take me some time to get used to, Willie spoke with reporters about his mindset two and a half weeks before the Draft. “It would be miserable if you sit here and just kind of drag through it. If you come in with an open mind, like today you’re getting better. Not more of a tryout workout but more of an ‘I’m just coming here to work and get my work in for a day,’” Willie said. “That’s the way I came in to do it. I didn’t come in to try to impress anybody or do something out of my element. Just try to get better today.” That is so Willie. So is this quote about not paying attention to the hype: “I really leave it up to my agent. I live day to day, what did I do today that was better than yesterday? I don’t really look at the draft, or who is going where, I don’t care. Regardless, I am going to have a chip on my shoulder, I am not going to be where I want to be. I look at it like I am better than these guys, but they are going to get drafted the way they are going to get drafted. People see something I don’t see, so I am going to have a chip on my shoulder when I go into it.” Willie will work out for the Kings (6th pick) on Thursday, the Knicks (4th pick) on the 16th, and Orlando (5th pick) and Miami (10th pick) on unknown dates.
