Also, it's a slow news day in the Kentucky world, so why not talk about something 75% of people will watch tonight. Can we stop with asking if LeBron James can play in the 1980s? Mychael Thompson - the dad of Klay Thompson and former Laker - is the latest to run his mouth, saying LeBron would't be able to survive in the 80's with the physical play and what was said to each other on the court. First off, the whole era argument is entirely ridiculous and stupid. Second, it's laughable if you don't think LeBron - who happens to be the size of Karl Malone - couldn't handle the physical play of the '80s. Let's remember that players are bigger and stronger now, he'd be just fine back then. It's also unique watching the hatred of LeBron. I 'hate' LeBron in the sense that I hate that he plays(ed) for 2 of my least favorite franchises in the NBA - that's what happens when you're a Knicks fan. But, there hasn't been anyone in the NBA history who is a legit superstar and has people calling him out for 'weaknesses.' It's truly fascinating to watch from afar as people want to discount what LeBron has done in making 6 straight NBA Finals, yet winning just two. So when you watch the game tonight, watch LeBron play. There's never been anyone like him and there likely won't be another one. He's likely the most talented player we've ever seen (not accomplished - just talented) and if you have anyone ask you if he can play in 1985, kindly tell them to shut up and remind them Fat Lever was a 2nd team All-NBA pick in 1986.
