Wow....Jai Lucas to Transfer
Surprising piece of news today as Kentucky Sports Radio’s favorite non-UK guy Jai Lucas is leaving Florida to transfer to another program. On one level, I find the news surprising as Jai has always seemed to enjoy the Gators. However on another level, I always thought Billy Donovan wasnt a great coach for Jai, as his system favors athleticism and Jai’s height would always be an impediment to his success there. Still yet, he started last season, averaged 8 a game and had a good future it seemed, but now it will be elsewhere.
Jai and Patrick helped build this blog through their long recruiting saga…..now we may have another one, although I doubt UK will be involved. Still yet, I wish Jai the best as this blog would not be where it is without his “will he or wont he” saga. He is still the best recruit radio guest we have ever had and his impersonation of Scott Rigot and comments about David Hobbs text messages remain two of the funniest recruit moments of all time. And with Jai out of Florida, all the more reason to hate the Gators….
