The Kentucky football program has picked up its 13th commitment in the class of 2021.

This afternoon, three-star outside linebacker Martez Thrower announced his commitment to Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over offers from Arkansas, Michigan State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, and Tennessee, among others.

“I will be taking my talents to Kentucky,” Thrower said in his announcement video, via Rivals. “Kentucky has made me a priority since early in my high school career. Coach Sumrall and the rest of the staff came in and recruited me early, made me a priority since then.

“Let’s go Big Blue Nation!”

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound pass-rusher out of Rochelle, GA is considered the No. 699 overall prospect and No. 42 outside linebacker in the 2021 247Sports Composite Rankings. Rivals lists Thrower as the No. 41 outside linebacker in the nation, while ESPN has him listed at No. 43 at the position.

Thrower joins Dekel Crowdus, Armond Scott, Christian Lewis, Chauncey Magwood, Jordan Lovett, David Wohlabaugh, Paul Rodriguez, La’Vell Wright, Kaiya Sheron, Kahlil Saunders, Joko Willis, and Wilson Berry as early commitments in the 2021 class.

With Thrower’s commitment, Kentucky jumps up to No. 42 overall in the 2021 247Sports Recruiting Team Rankings, up six spots from the program’s previous ranking at No. 48 overall.
