Yankees GM Brian Cashman is a huge Kentucky fan
Add another name to the list of UK "celebrity" fans: Yankees GM Brian Cashman. Cashman grew up in Lexington, where he tells The New York Times he dreamed of playing for Kentucky one day.
“I think every kid in Kentucky has that dream,” Cashman told David Waldstein. Cashman says his dreams were so specific that he plotted out ways to beat Denny Crum's Louisville, a sure sign of a true Kentucky fan.
Cashman regularly invites John Calipari up to games, and hopes to bring his kids to Rupp one day when he's not so busy. “Kentucky fandom is off the charts,” he said. “I would love for them to experience that like I did.”
