"You lose to UK, you lose to everybody"

Trinity's Jason Hatcher One of the main arguments made against Kentucky's prospects in football is the lack of in-state talent. Unfortunately, the in-state talent that is there seems to be picking Louisville over the Cats more and more, an issue brought into light by comments made by Jason Hatcher, a defensive end from Trinity ranked third in the country in his position by Scout.com. Although Hatcher chose USC over Louisville and Tennessee last week, it was his remarks about why he decided to eliminate UT from his list that will hit Kentucky fans where it hurts:
“I told them, ‘You lost to the University of Kentucky. You lose to UK, you lose to everybody because UK finishes last in the SEC every year.”
Ouch. What about the Cards?
“I don’t think Louisville needs to do anything (better in recruiting nearby prospects),” Hatcher told ESPN. “They’re doing good. I’ve just known my whole life that I didn’t want to stay home, that I wanted to explore.”
Hatcher may not think much of the Cats, but he does think a lot of Tee Martin, who began recruiting him while he was at Kentucky, and continued to when he made the move to USC. First step to changing the negative perception of UK football? Beating Louisville in 34 days.
