Cfh8xK8WQAAMMqn This morning, Skal Labissiere came on KSR to discuss his freshman year at UK and his decision to go pro. Given the criticism that Skal faced this year, this couldn't have been an easy thing for him to do, but after listening to him open up about his childhood in Haiti and his struggles this season, I don't see how you can't root for the kid. We've all heard the story about how Skal was trapped in the rubble from the Haiti earthquake, but listening to him describe in his own words how he feared for his life as his father hurried to dig him out was emotional, as was his blunt honesty about how disappointed he was in himself parts of this season. His biggest regret this year? That he couldn't help Kentucky win a national championship. On a lighter note, it was nice to learn more about Skal the person. His favorite thing to do in his off time? Watch Netflix. His favorite show? "The Office," an answer that became more endearing when he said his favorite character is Creed Bratton. He even talked a little bit about the famous sleepover at Calipari's house.
