4-star OL TJ Shanahan sets LSU official visit
2023 Austin (Tex.) Westlake offensive lineman T.J. Shanahan will officially visit LSU this weekend, The Bengal Tiger learned Tuesday. Shanahan confirmed the visit on Thursday. The 6-4, 325-pounder is making his first visit to Baton Rouge since his unofficial visit in late April.
Earlier this year, Shanahan pegged the SEC as the place he’s wanted to be. So far, his three official visits lie with the powerhouse league.
“I feel like the SEC’s definitely on top right now and have been for a while,” Shanahan told On3. “But I’m just kind of thinking about just what school has genuine people and what offensive line coach can do for me.”
Texas A&M is the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine favorite, giving the Aggies an 77.9% chance of landing Shanahan. The Aggies hosted him last weekend while Georgia hosted him earlier this month.

In November, TJ Shanahan helped key a dominant win over Lake Travis. On3 director of scouting came away impressed with the right tackle for the Chaps.
“He’s a big, wide-bodied offensive lineman and is a load for opposing defensive lines,” Power wrote. “Right now, he’s best as a run blocker and projects inside due to his size and arm length.”
TJ Shanahan is the No. 95 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s the No. 6 interior offensive lineman and No. 17 overall prospect in Texas.
Shanahan currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $115k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
