LSU point guard Adam Miller is returning to the Tigers to play for Matt McMahon, he announced on Friday. TCU was also a finalist for Miller, but instead he’ll return to the Tigers and withdraw his name from the portal.

When Miller transferred to LSU, he expected to be a monster addition in the back court. Instead, he never played for Will Wade and will continue to ready for his LSU debut.

Adam Miller’s 2021-22 season was over before it began, suffering a torn ACL in the summer after a solid freshman season at Illinois. He averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in 25.5 minutes per contest. He helped the Fighting Illini to a Big Ten Tournament championship and a No. 1 seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Miller entered the transfer portal and ended up at LSU for last summer.

Miller was a highly touted recruit out of Chicago. A four-star recruit, he was the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois and the No. 29 recruit in the nation from the Class of 2020, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Adam Miller is another big piece for Matt McMahon

Miller is the latest big piece to sign on with McMahon. Earlier this month, LSU inked Murray State transfer big man KJ Williams, one of the top available transfers in the country.

Recently, LSU was on a tear in the high school recruiting ranks, landing a pair of elite prospects. On3 five-star forward Tyrell Ward and four-star big man Jalen Reed signed with the Tigers.

LSU point guard Justice Williams and Mwani Wilkinson are the other LSU players who committed to playing for McMahon in Baton Rouge next season.

Five other transfers transferred to LSU. Mississippi State forward Derek Fountain, Northwestern State big man Kendal Coleman and NC State guard Cam Hayes along with Murray State backcourt teammates Justice Hill and Trae Hannibal join the Tigers next year.

LSU also brought in former Murray State signee Corneilous Williams, a big man out of North Carolina. With Adam Miller on board, LSU has one spot remaining on the roster.
