LSU flipped 2023 Baylor commit Christian Brathwaite on Wednesday morning, he announced on Twitter. The Cy Ranch (Tex.) linebacker committed to the Bears in January, but after a visit to Baton Rouge, the flip was on.

Defensive coordinator Matt House impressed with his in-game adjustments against Ole Miss and how he coaches his players.

“Coach House is a player’s guy. He coaches within the player. He is really interested in the player. He coaches each individual a certain way based off their certain skills based on developing them and getting them better.”

LSU head coach Brian Kelly had an offer out the 6-1, 205-pound linebacker for a while. Kelly impressed with his plan and belief in his team.

“I’ve had an offer, I was just committed to Baylor. Out of respect for them, I didn’t post it,” Christian Brathwaite said. “Coach Kelly is very humble and very faithful within his coaching. He believes in all his players and he’s willing to do anything to win and make anybody better.”

Player personnel assistant Mike Ferrara also played a key role.

“Coach Ferrara, even when he was at A&M, he really wanted me to go to A&M. He really vouched for me at A&M, but I got hurt so that slowed it down. When he came to LSU, he looked at my film and vouched for me before anybody.”

Brathwaite is ready to get to LSU now and bring his leadership qualities. He’s been moved around at times, but has settled in off the ball for Cy Ranch.

“They’re going to get a hard working kid for sure. Winner, leader. Great individual on and off the field, a student-athlete.”

According to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Christian Brathwaite ranks as the No. 410 overall prospect in the country and No. 38 linebacker prospect in the nation.
