Kiffin reportedly adds veteran coach to his LSU staff
Lane Kiffin has reportedly made another addition to the LSU staff, hiring former Kentucky offensive line coach Eric Wolford. The veteran coach has amassed nearly three decades of coaching experience, including almost ten years in the SEC.
Wolford will join an LSU coaching staff that is rounding into form on the offensive side of the ball. He will join joins co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Joe Cox, wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator George McDonald, inside wideouts coach Sawyer Jordan, quarterbacks coach Dane Stevens, strength and conditioning coach Nick Savage, and senior executive director of player personnel Mike Williams. Kiffin is still working on the details of his defensive staff.
The Resume
During his two stints at Kentucky, Wolford’s offensive lines blocked for several talented running backs, including Seth McGowan, who ran for 725 yards and twelve scores in 2025. In 2024, Wolford’s offensive line sparked an impressive performance against Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss Rebels. The Wildcats tallied 336 yards of total offense and 243 passing yards in the win against Ole Miss.
While at Alabama, he guided an offensive line that blocked for the fourth-best scoring offense in the SEC and the 23rd-best in the nation, recording 34.0 points per game. In a season that featured a 12-2 record, an SEC Championship and an appearance in the CFP, the Crimson Tide offensive line racked up 172.9 yards per game on the ground, ranking in the top half of the league and top 50 in the nation, with 32 touchdowns rushing.

His offensive line also helped protect quarterback Jalen Milroe, who had a 65.8 percent completion percentage (187-284-6) for 2,834 yards and 23 touchdowns passing in 13 games. Three of his offensive linemen earned postseason honors as JC Latham was named to the All-SEC First Team by the AP and conference coaches and was a second-team All-American by several media outlets. Tyler Booker was named to the All-SEC First Team by the AP and was an All-SEC Second Team choice from the conference coaches. Kaydn Procter was named to the All-SEC Freshman Team and was a Freshman All-American by On3.
Wolford has also spent time at South Carolina, Illinois, Arizona, North Texas and others. He was the head coach at Youngstown State from 2010-2014. Wolford was in the NFL for two seasons with the San Francisco 49ers.
