Bryce: Just maybe your thoughts on his strategy and from what he’s done at Ole Miss how much of that translates what has to be different at LSU and is it somewhere in the middle?
Sam: Yeah I think you know from speaking to people who have met with Lane and with Billy Glasscock over the last couple of hours and days they’ve been wildly impressed by the roster management or roster assembly process that’s being laid out in Baton Rouge as we speak We are seeing this for the first time play out, not only with the early signing period, but as you know, the transfer portal is about to get going, and we expect LSU to be extremely active.

But Ole Miss has not recruited high school players at an extraordinary clip. They’ve been able to do things like keep the best players in the state of Mississippi inside the SIP for the most part Very familiar face in Baton Rouge, Kelvin Bolden, has been a huge part of Lane Kiffin’s success in Oxford and locking down the state, so I’m sure that a lot of those same principles are going to carry over to LSU, where obviously you have a unique advantage when you’re LSU recruiting your own state, and I think that ultimately Lane will get there.
We’ve already seen a couple of cuts made; we’ve already seen some cuts made on the offensive line. It’s always tough to see in-state kids get the short end of the stick, but it goes to show you that they’re going to devote their resources in other departments, and they’re going through every leaf and making sure everything is unturned as they assemble this roster to compete, I would imagine next fall.
