WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We have our latest installment of the Message Board Mania series, this time with Miami fans weighing in on whether or not this year’s team truly needs a No. 1 WR threat to be a top offense. So be sure to check that out.

We also continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. We are at No. 46 today.

In recruiting?

Miami cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge is making his rounds across the Sunshine State this week, and on Thursday he checked in on West Orange (Fla.) cornerback Devonte Anderson. Find out how that went.

Another update: The Canes have turned their sights on Bishop Gorman five-star safety Jett Washington, who was offered by Miami safeties coach Will Harris following an in-school visit. Find out where things stand.

Another new offer went out to 2027 4-star Port Charlotte (Fla.) QB Logan Flaherty … we have his reaction.

Clayton (N.C.) four-star top-75 defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil’s top seven schools have stayed competitive in their battle for the coveted blue-chip prospect this spring, so Miami has been sure to keep its foot on the gas for the 6-foot-3, 260-pound interior defender. Get the latest there.

We also have a look at how Mario Cristobal is having recruiting success in the Midwest, with Jackson Cantwell a prime example.

There also was the baseball team beginning its season finale series vs. Notre Dame and falling 3-2, so we have that for you.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Just the coaching, the culture, there’s a lot of experience on that coaching staff. And just to be able to get coached, to be able to say you’re being recruited by a Hall of Famer (in defensive line coach Jason Taylor), and coach (Damione) Lewis has been in the game for a long time. That’s good to me.”
