WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

We take a closer look at who might head to the pros from Miami after this season with eligibility left. After all, it happens pretty much every year. And we’ve identified six players where that might apply. So you can check out that breakdown.

In recruiting?

Miami will host Lake Cormorant (Miss.) 2024 four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin for an official visit this weekend as the No. 36 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking kicks off a massive June recruiting month. He shares his thoughts heading into the UM trip.

Another visitor this weekend? In May, Cornelius (N.C.) William Amos Hough four-star linebacker James Nesta landed his offer from Miami. June 2, he’ll kick off official visit season with a trip to Coral Gables. He shares his thoughts.

Then, while blue-chip 2024 offensive linemen like four-star prospects Brandon Baker and Daniel Calhoun stole some of the recruiting spotlight this spring, Oviedo (Fla.) 3-star offensive tackle Tye Hylton has quietly turned into one of Miami’s priority recruits. He updates his status.

In basketball for the first time since 2017, the Miami Hurricanes will be represented in the NBA Finals thanks to former ‘Canes guard Bruce Brown and the Denver Nuggets. We have his take heading into it and an update on his play.

And CaneSport continues to count down the top 50 post-spring players on the roster, a list that doesn’t include any post-spring roster additions. Today we break down No. 22 Te’Cory Couch.

Miami also announced 4 of its game times, with two at night, so you can check that out, too.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

TWEETS OF THE DAY

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

Top 5 Freshmen … Posted by Central17

Mauigoa is an obvious – true FS OT starters are rare, but everything points to him being that good. That is the reason that HCMC has potential to be great! Ray-Ray will not be dominant year one, but think back to Santana Moss freshman year. Okulona might not shine if the other OL stay healthy, but he is of valuable being there. Joyce = obvious, no one cares about punters until they are bad. Fletcher is the X factor, I love his potential, but am still waiting for anyone to explain why he is that much better of a prospect than Thad Franklin?

Potential Additions:

Punt snapper, maybe not a true FS, but see Joyce.

TE: Williams or Carver – IMO both have Shockey, Olsen type potential.

DL: Bain just has that “it” factor, Don’t sleep on Wayne!

LB: just have a feeling one of these big/fast guys will emerge.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I’ve been to (Miami) twice without my mom and sister, but they’re going to come with me on my official. I want to see how well they recruit me and them. They’ve prioritized me, and I want to see if they’ll prioritize my family as well.”
