WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

It was, of course, another massive official visit weekend for the Canes, and we had your full coverage off that with feedback from the recruits. So don’t miss all that. And there also was our full coverage of Justin Edwards’ flip from Rutgers and Asharri Charles’ Sunday commitment, with analysis. There’s our Sunday Mario Cristobal camp recap as well.

Then there was the news of Wisconsin filing its suit against Miami, and we had that for you.

Want to read about LT Markel Bell’s latest NIL venture … and what he’s saying about the team and Carson Beck. Yup, we’ve got that.

We also continue our State of The U series. We’re in the midst of going in-depth with position by position analysis, and you can check out our breakdowns of the question marks at WR, the strength on the OL and a guy ready to break out at tight end.

And we continue our annual series breaking down the top 50 players on the current roster. As we go along on this list you’ll get an idea of the overall depth of talent on Mario Cristobal’s team this year as he seeks to build on a season that was oh-so-close to a playoff berth. You can read our inside looks at several guys on the list – No. 10, 9 and 8.

We catch up with baseball coach J.D. Arteaga, too, for a feature looking at how NIL, scholarship numbers and tuition affects that program and where things stand financially.

In basketball recruiting we catch up with local 4-star Jaxon Richardson, who’s getting a big push from Jai Lucas & staff. So don’t miss that, either.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

Tendency to overcome … Posted by 289FIA

Was watching a podcast on “top coaches” and there it was … described as a “tendency that needs to be overcome”. It’s in the books … and needs to be replaced by film showing UM beating a top 10 team. And then another one. Hope it happens this year.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“Carson has been throwing, speaking up in the locker room as well. He’s off to a good start. Man, he’s also an awesome guy. He stays to himself like myself, but he’s a good guy. He’s taken us out to eat, invited us over, he’s a cool dude.”
