WHAT’S UP TODAY

First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?

You don’t want to miss the CaneSport staff all sharing their individual opinions on the coming football season and projecting the game-by-game win-loss records … and why. Be sure to check that out.

We also take a closer look at the baseball team off a disappointing finish. What kind of talent is this team losing and bringing back? Don’t miss that.

In recruiting?

We have your Kamarion Franklin update off his official visit – he was the last of the visitors to talk with us coming out of the weekend. So don’t miss what he was saying and where Miami stands now.

Plus we catch up with Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Monarch High School wide receiver Jabari Brady. Despite being a 2026 prospect, the young pass catcher is considered to be one of the top receivers in South Florida regardless of class, and he wanted to put that on full display in front of not only Mario Cristobal but the entire Hurricanes coaching staff at the program’s Sunday camp. Read about that.

We also continue to count down the top 50 post-spring players on the roster, a list that doesn’t include any post-spring roster additions. Today we break down No. 17, Francis Mauigoa. Yes, the true freshman made the top 20.

And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY

NIL for Coaches? … Posted by sabrose

WIth the disparity in TV money in the ACC is it possible that NIL’s could be formed to pay coaches just like they pay players ? It would be a way to offset the relative deficits for coaches salaries compared to the Big Ten and SEC. I imagine if the schools tried to block that they would encounter the same tortious interference lawsuits the players won. Just an idea.

MIAMI HURRICANES QUOTE OF THE DAY

“They just let me know that I’m wanted to play football, but they let me know they’re looking at me as a person and they enjoyed being around me. Those were the words of coach Cristobal. He loved being around me, loved the kind of person I am and that I can come in and change the program.”
