WHAT’S UP TODAY
First up this morning in your Miami Hurricanes news?
Don’t miss CaneSport Live tonight at 8 pm with Gary Ferman, Izubee Charles and Bruce Warner interacting with fans and answering their questions.
Mario Cristobal also shared his thoughts early this morning, so stay tuned for that, and players will be talking after practice today so be sure to return to the website this afternoon for what they are saying off the big win at Florida.
Plus yesterday we caught up with Cristobal and coordinators Shannon Dawson and Lance Guidry for their breakdowns off the huge season opening win in The Swamp, and we have your key takeaways off of that. Gary Ferman also broke down his take on the Miami dominant win in Week 1 during a segement with the On3 Roundtable Show, so don’t miss that.
This morning also be sure to check out Matt Shodell’s film breakdown of Guidry’s masterful third down defense that saw Florida convert just one of nine opportunities (and 0 for the first 8 of the game).

In recruiting?
We caught up with St. Augustine (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Somourian Wingo, who was thoroughly impressed with what he saw from the Canes as a recruit at the game. Don’t miss what he’s saying.
Also in attendance at the game was Gators four-star 2025 receiver commit Joshua Moore. So what is he saying now?
And, as always, stay tuned today for any news that may come up.

MESSAGE BOARD POST OF THE DAY
Observations off Game 1 … Posted by advarkas
(1) Physicality – team is capable of beating anyone, including Georgia, with that type of physicality. Ward had 5+ seconds to throw every drop back, and anyone with a pulse could have run the ball for 4 yards a pop. On defense, total domination stopping the Gator run outside of one busted long run. Some sacks and TFLs. Mario’s DNA of OL/DL elite play was on full display.
(2) Ward – the TD throw to Restrepo was on the money in stride in between 2 defenders, he scrambled for 30-40 rushing yards, he bought time in the pocket with an elite throw to Jacolby back of the endzone, different arm angles to make the play. Ward was everything and then some. That’s why you back up the NIL brinks truck and upgrade from TVD.
Ward’s 385 yards is the most all time for a debut game by a Cane QB.
(3) Discipline – 0 false starts; 0 holding penalties. On the road in the swamp? Lmao. Just wow. Incredible display of discipline and control.
(4) Ben Hill Griffin Stadium – is a total shvt hole. I don’t care about college town and college atmosphere. 30 minute waits at the concession stands all game long, people sitting down in the corridors. I don’t ever want to hear a Gator fan talk about the old OB again. This stadium and town is a complete f**king toilet and I can’t wait to GTFOH in 30 min.
(5) Jaden Harris – was a beast all game and had that nice pick late to cap off a dominant day for the defense.
Great start to the season!
