Be sure to check out Gary Ferman’s column this morning on what makes Miami president Joe Echevarria different … and perfect for the job at hand when it comes to resurrecting Miami Hurricanes athletics in the chase for national titles.

The Miami Hurricanes are hard at work preparing for NC State. And the Wolfpack, coming off an upset of Georgia Tech and then a bye weekend, are likewise gearing up for UM.

We have your new U Bet CaneSport podcast with renowned local handicapper Lee Sterling breaking down the University of Miami-NC State game and other top college contests this weekend.

It’s no secret that freshman WR Malachi Toney is a massive threat for the Miami Hurricanes. And over the last couple of games we’ve seen opponents work really hard to try and take him away. He’s faced constant bracket coverage, and while he leads UM with 54 catches for 644 yards, in the last two games he’s had a combined 11 catches for just 82 yards. We catch up with him for his thoughts on that, Miami’s CFP rankings and his thoughts on the NC State challenge.

We were Live From The Crib for you last night with Miami Northwestern (Fla.) dominating from start to finish in its 70-0 win over Somerset Academy (Fla.) in the first round of the 3A FHSAA Football state tournament. Get your Miami-related news from that game.

More updates:

When Penn State pledge Isaac Chukwurah reopened his recruitment following the firing of head coach James Franklin, Miami got involved almost immediately thereafter. The Hurricanes offered Chukwurah on Oct. 14 and were in aggressive pursuit of the Bear (De.) Caravel Academy three-star 2026 defensive lineman in recent weeks before landing him. This morning we have his coach’s take on what UM’s landed.

There’s also your NC State visitor list, which we break down.

And the Canes have broken into the nation’s top 10 in recruiting rankings with the recent commitments. We bring you that news.

Plus we catch up with Clayton (N.C.) four-star 2026 defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil. He will make his first trip to Miami this weekend since his somewhat sudden and unexpected flip to the Hurricanes from Clemson.

Another recruiting update for you: Mission Viejo (Calif.) wide receiver Vance Spafford has maintained his pledge to Miami since flipping from Georgia in June, and we have the status of his commitment.

CaneSport isn’t just providing your Miami Hurricanes round the clock news, we’re also good for your health! Because we’ve got your honest to goodness columns, features, analysis and news delivered with honestly, integrity and a little ESV sprinkled in. Corey Hetherman may use the motto ESV as “Excitement, Swarm, Violence” for his defense, but for us it’s “Excellence, Superb coverage and Violence.” Okay, fine, for us the V actually stands for “Value.” Because you can sign up for CaneSport for the $1 in change you find in your couch right now – yes, we’re talking to you. And we’ll throw in a year subscription to The Athletic with an annual CaneSport subscription. So get a CaneSport subscription now!

There’s no mail anymore. But there are CaneSport’s message boards, which is kind of the same thing just with the message delivered immediately. So be sure to check out all the latest Hurricanes perspective with your fellow fans!

Postgame tomorrow night we will have tons of content – stay tuned for feedback from coach Mario Cristobal and players, Gary Ferman’s post-game column, our full game analysis, grading the team and more. Plus stay tuned on Monday morning for Cristobal’s thoughts, and later that afternoon we’ll get more from Cristobal, Shannon Dawson and Corey Hetherman. Oh, and we’re going to have plenty of team analysis and recruiting news over the weekend, including a Pro Fooball Focus analysis. Have a great day and Go Canes!
