EAST LANSING - A day after the U.S. District Court Judge Claudia Wilken approved the House v. NCAA settlement, new Michigan State athletic director J Batt stated that these changes are “a good thing” for Spartan athletics. “This is a transformative change – a positive change,” he said in a community letter posted at MSUSpartans.com, the official web site of the Michigan State athletic department. “It's a good thing, first and foremost, for student-athletes, but also for college athletics as a model, and specifically for Michigan State athletics. “This transformative change provides opportunities for Michigan State athletics.
