BREAKING: 2023 three-star DB Philipp Davis has signed with Michigan State

2023 Lake Wales (FL) High School three-star DB Philipp Davis has signed with Michigan State. Davis, standing at 6-foot-3, 180-pounds, was offered by the Spartans on January 3, 2023. Davis held an additional offer from Toledo, with interest from West Virginia, South Florida, and others. The 2023 On3 Consensus three-star is ranked No. 811 nationally, the No. 81 cornerback, and the No. 113 player in the state of Florida.
On3 rates Davis a three-star prospect (87.00), the No. 91 cornerback, and the No. 116 player in the state of Florida. Davis does not hold a national ranking, according to On3.
“I’m an intelligent kid,” Davis told SpartanMag.com previously. “So, I was going to go to school to be a lawyer or doctor. I plan to let my football career take me as long as God will take me. Then I will pursue in the lawyer or doctor career.”
Led by defensive back’s coach Harlon Barnett, Michigan State was able to secure a January official visit from the under-the-radar three-star recruit.
“He was saying I use my length very well, as a 6-foot-2 kid,” Davis said of Barnett. ”He was telling me with the skillset I have there is no reason why I shouldn’t be able to get into games as a freshman. If I come up there, do what I am supposed to do, and handles business I should be able to play on Sunday’s.”
