Rivals300 St. Louis (Mo.) De Smet High defensive lineman Titan Davis officially signed with Michigan Wednesday.

Here is everything you need to know about the nation’s No. 11 defensive lineman.

The Skinny

Height: 6-4
Weight: 262 pounds
Senior Stats: 44 total tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 interception
Industry Ranking: No. 108 overall, No. 11 defensive lineman, No. 2 in Missouri
Interesting Facts: Navy All-American, Metro Catholic Conference first team

Recruitment

Davis’ recruitment came down to two schools— Michigan and Alabama. He considered schools like Penn State and Nebraska and had a full slate of official visits planned, but he canceled those trips after kicking his schedule off with a trip to Tuscaloosa. A Victors Weekend stop in Ann Arbor was the only visit left on the slate, and that trip was enough to swing his recruitment towards the Maize and Blue. He committed to Michigan June 23.

He Said It

“From the first visit, I’m like, ‘Wow, this is a great place,’” Davis said. “I saw the atmosphere of the night game— the Michigan State game— and I was just like, ‘Wow, man. Why not here?’ It’s a great place. I was watching Mason Graham and Kenneth Grant dominate the front, and I’m like, ‘Wow, that could be me.’”

They Said It

“He’s got a unique blend of size and speed…A lot of times, high school kids come in and they need 25 pounds, they need 30 pounds. He’s already big enough, and he can play all four spots, and he’s intelligent enough to play all four spots, and he can play all four spots effectively.” — De Smet head coach John Merritt

Scouting Report

“Titan Davis is an active interior defensive lineman. He makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. He plays for one of the top high school programs in the state of Missouri. I like that he can win in a phone booth. He’s not the biggest or heaviest defensive lineman, but he punches above his weight based on the play strength. He does a good job of finding ball carriers in the backfield. He plays with good vision, active hands and good technique. There is a lot to like about Titan Davis. He’s been high in our rankings over the past year.

“He moves well, and I think the film is good. We haven’t seen him in-person, so we’re looking forward to that. But he’s a nice pickup for Michigan. He can provide some pass rushing juice and quickness on the interior.” — Rivals director of scouting and rankings Charles Power
