Seven Michigan commits were still playing football going into the weekend. Now, only five remain.

Rivals300 wide receiver pledge Travis Johnson is working hard to lead Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith to its second straight title. He had a big performance on Friday night, logging three receptions for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Johnson only played about two and a half quarters as Oscar Smith easily took down Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale, 48-7. Johnson and Oscar Smith will now face Vienna (Va.) James Madison in the state semifinals.

Fellow Michigan wide receiver commit Jaylen Pile, a three-star prospect, also had a strong performance, recording five receptions for 149 yards and one touchdown in Dallas (Texas) Parish Episcopal’s 49-14 blowout win over Tomball (Texas) Concordia Lutheran.

Pile and Parish Episcopal are moving on to the TAPPS DI state title game, where they will face Plano (Texas) Prestonwood Christian. The two teams met in the regular season, with Parish Episcopal coming out on top, 38-35.

Three-star 2027 Michigan offensive line commit Tristan Dare and powerhouse Southlake (Texas) Carroll kept rolling this weekend with a 49-31 win over Prosper (Texas) High. Dare and Carroll will now take on Denton (Texas) Guyer in the 6A DII state quarterfinals.

Michigan is doing everything it can to keep Top 100 EDGE commit Julian Walker in the class, and rightfully so. Walker is having a big senior season and put together another impressive performance over the weekend.

Walker notched nine tackles, including one for loss, and a fumble recovery in Irmo (S.C.) Dutch Fork’s 30-10 win over Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman. Walker and Dutch Fork will now face Summerville (S.C.) High in the 5A DI state title game.

Rivals300 Michigan safety commit Jordan Deck logged 10 tackles, including two for loss, in Frisco (Texas) Lone Star’s 47-20 victory over Mesquite (Texas) West Mesquite. Deck and Lone Star will now face Highland Park (Texas) High in the 5A DI state quarterfinals.

The two Michigan commits who were eliminated from playoff action were three-star Richmond (Va.) Huguenot linebacker Markel Dabney and Richmond (Va.) Hermitage defensive back Andre Clarke.

Dabney scored on a short touchdown while playing wide receiver and made some key plays, but it wasn’t enough as Huguenot fell to Richmond (Va.) Varina, 21-12.

Clarke was a factor on both sides of the ball as well as he recorded four receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown and blanketed his side of the field. Unfortunately, Hermitage came up short against Highland Springs (Va.) High, 21-13.
