It’s June, and as is tradition, the Michigan Wolverines football staff has hit the road for satellite camps. Head coach Jim Harbaugh and his staff have been pro-satellite camp ever since he arrived prior to the 2015 campaign, and the Maize and Blue are able to hit camps on 10 different days this month, starting with the Mercer mega camp Wednesday.

The Mercer mega camp featured coaches from Miami (Fla.), Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Northwewstern, Maryland and a host of other Power Five schools, as well as Group of Five institutions.

The Michigan staff checked in for the day early in the morning, as captured by a Twitter video. Spotted with Harbaugh were quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator Matt Weiss, offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore, defensive line coach and recruiting coordinator Mike Elston, defensive coordinator Jesse Minter, defensive backs coach, co-defensive coordinator Steve Clinkscale and graduate assistant Milan Bolden-Morris.

Harbaugh also reminisced on past satellite camp tours with Ballers Choice executive director Enloe Clemons. Michigan once hit the road for 50-plus camps in a summer, but the NCAA has since limited schools to attend camps on only 10 days.

“We put the title of ‘mega’ [camp] because of Coach Harbaugh,” Clemons said in a video posted by Luke Winstel.

“We’ve been doing this a while,” Harbaugh added. “We did 57 camps together in one month, all over the United States. The swarm tour.”

Jim Harbaugh chats with recent QB offer

Michigan’s head coach got the chance to chat with a recent quarterback offer in the class of 2026. The Wolverines extended a scholarship to Carrolton (Ga.) High signal-caller Julian “Juju” Lewis in early February. The rising high school freshman was excited to hear the news.

“When the offer happened I was really excited because they were pretty good this year,” Lewis told On3’s Jeremy Johnson in February. “That was a blessing.”

Michigan is coming off winning the 2021 Big Ten title and reaching the College Football Playoff. The Wolverines’ staff has quite a bit to sell on the recruiting trail, and June is expected to be a big month for their efforts in both 2023 and the classes to follow.

The Maize and Blue are hitting camps across the country, including Wednesday’s Sound Mind Sound Body Michigan showcase at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., and hosting visitors in Ann Arbor. Notably, Michigan has a big list of visitors slated to be on campus the weekend of June 17-19, ‘Victors Weekend.
