Former New York Yankees star shortstop Derek Jeter did some wonderful things in his career, including winning five World Series titles and making 14 All-Star games. His time at Michigan, he tweeted, helped set the table for his career. Jeter, a Kalamazoo, Mich., native, enrolled at U-M, then eventually signed with the Yankees before actually playing in any games for the Wolverines.

“What helped me grow up was being in Ann Arbor my first offseason enrolled at Michigan,” Jeter tweeted, promoting his documentary, ‘The Captain,’ which aired on ESPN Monday night.

On3’s Mike Huguenin put together a list of the top offensive line transfers in college football. Michigan’s newest member, formerly of the Air Force and Virginia topped the list among all of them.

“Not only did Michigan get a plug-and-play replacement for graduated C Andrew Vastardis, it got a guy who will be one of the best centers in the nation. Olusegun Oluwatimi should slide in nicely in Vastardis’ old spot and give the Wolverines one of the best lines in the nation. He began his career at Air Force, then transferred and became a three-year starter for the Cavaliers. Oluwatimi (6-3, 310) was a second-team All-ACC selection in 2021, when he was one of three finalists for the Rimington Trophy, which goes to the nation’s best center. He and linemates Zak Zinter, a guard, and Ryan Hayes, a tackle, will vie for All-Big Ten and even All-America honors.”

Former Michigan basketball player Ant Wright provided some interesting facts regarding the U-M football and basketball programs and their recent success.

Sports and IP lawyer Darren Heitner shared a tweet on NIL and a huge misconception surrounding it.

Quote Of The Day

“Usually you know players like him with talent and skill, they play selfishly. They play to score. Most important he’s a great defender, too. He’s not just an offensive player. As we saw last game, he did an amazing job on the key players of New Zealand. Same [this game]. Maybe he had three or four blocked shots. He rebounds.”
