Michigan running back Hassan Haskins spoke from the NFL Combine in Indianapolis on Thursday afternoon. The former Wolverine hopes to bring his well-rounded skill-set to the next level with the eyes of the league on him.

More than just the Michigan beat was in attendance for his media session, which allowed him to answer questions about his playing time.

“I think I’m a power back,” Haskins said. “I’ve got everything in the toolbag. I like being the hammer, not the nail. I like to run through people.”

Michigan fans are plenty familiar with his description. Haskins ran for 1,327 yards and 20 touchdowns during his senior season in Ann Arbor, headlined by a 169-yard, five-touchdown performance against the Ohio State Buckeyes. He spent much of the year splitting reps with Blake Corum in the Michigan backfield and had no issues with the dynamic.

“It was smooth,” he said. “We complemented each other. I cheered him on, he cheered me on. It was never a selfish thing between us. It was pretty good and exciting to see.”

Haskins likely profiles to sharing carries in the NFL, which is a dynamic that he has no issues with after his time at Michigan.

“Everybody has got to eat, so I can definitely see that,” he said.

Haskins said his favorite player growing up was Adrian Peterson, who is the player he most models his game after.

“He can run people over and he can make people miss,” Haskins said. “I feel like I have the same things in my tool bag.”
