Michigan football is still figuring out what its roster looks like next year, especially with a handful of key contributors off to the 2022 NFL Draft. Six Wolverines appeared in the latest mock draft simulation we ran on The Draft Network. One of them is on the list for the first time.

Here is a rundown of Michigan’s NFL talent in our latest seven-round 2022 simulation.

Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE (No. 1 overall, Jacksonville Jaguars)

Hutchinson’s lack of production in the College Football Playoff did not hurt his pro stock upon further review. Credit is being given to Georgia for how their game plan took him out of the contest. He still has plenty of film this season to suggest he is worthy of a top-five selection. Most believe that he will come off the board to either the Jaguars or Detroit Lions, as both are locked into the No. 1 and No. 2 picks in the draft. Michigan will miss its heartbeat and Heisman finalist.

David Ojabo, EDGE (No. 14 overall, Baltimore Ravens)

Ojabo is raw and has a lot of work to do in becoming an every-down player, but the tools and production from this season still make him a more than worthy first-round prospect. It is hard to project his stock going much higher so the decision to declare was not surprising. Also of note is that it would keep the Harbaugh-to-Harbaugh pipeline open.

Daxton Hill, safety (No. 35 overall, New York Jets)

The third-year safety officially declared for the NFL Draft in the days following the Orange Bowl loss. Hill played a variety of roles at Michigan in his first three years and the ability to play deep safety or in the nickel will be intriguing to NFL teams. Do not rule out him sneaking into the back half of the first round.

Andrew Stueber, offensive tackle (No. 105 overall, Carolina Panthers)

Stueber was a force on Michigan’s offensive line in 2021. He now has a week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile to sell himself to NFL franchises in early February. He probably kicks inside to guard at the next level, but the ability to play both spots will be valuable for his draft stock. Stueber was a riser on draft boards throughout the year and seems to have rounded into a potential mid-round/early day three pick.

Hassan Haskins, running back (No. 144 overall, New York Jets)

Haskins is as rock-solid of a running back prospect as it gets and one Michigan will miss greatly. The one knock against him might be breakaway speed, but what he lacks there he makes up for in power, pass protection and the ability to be a factor on special teams. He will be at the Senior Bowl with Stueber in February.

Josh Ross, linebacker (No. 201 overall, Houston Texans)

This is the first time that Ross has appeared on this list since we began running simulations. He was the captain of Michigan football’s defense next to Hutchinson and did a solid job inside. Ross had a chance to return for a sixth season in Ann Arbor, but instead is set to be a prospect that either comes off the board late or gets a camp invite somewhere.

Other Michigan football prospects

Safety Brad Hawkins, wide receiver Daylen Baldwin, cornerback Vincent Gray and defensive tackle Christopher Hinton will get pro looks this offseason, but none appeared in The Draft Network’s simulation. Hawkins and Hinton seem like good bets to be in NFL camps somewhere, while Gray and Baldwin have much to prove throughout the offseason. We will have to see how the process plays out for the former Michigan products.
