Myles Pollard committed to Michigan in July and has remained fairly quiet ever since.

But with just a few weeks left before the early signing period, the three-star Brentwood (Tenn.) Ravenwood cornerback decided to make an unofficial visit to Auburn. The Tigers were a finalist before he sided with U-M this summer and have continued to recruit him over the last several months.

So has anything changed with his verbal pledge to the Wolverines?

“I’m still very much committed,” Pollard said. “Auburn was part of my Top 3. I never got to see them live in an actual game, so I wanted to check it out. Nothing has really changed my mind in my commitment to Michigan.”

Pollard has actually been working hard to enroll early at Michigan. As a senior, Pollard has taken a total of 10 courses, including several online classes in late summer and throughout the fall.

Pollard now just needs to complete one last statistics class in order to graduate in December.

“I’m still not done, but I’m working to finish,” Pollard said. “It was really hard during the summer. I had a bunch of classes. It took a lot of my summer away, but I had to do it to enroll early. They told me they needed me, so I made a business decision. It will help me get stronger, know the playbook and adjust to college earlier.”

Michigan will have a chance to 100 percent lock down Pollard on his unofficial visit this weekend for The Game. Pollard is set to arrive on Friday and stay through Sunday.

“I’m looking forward to seeing Michigan beat Ohio State because I know that hasn’t happened in a long time,” Pollard said. “I want to see the atmosphere after that. It would be crazy if it does happen. It’s one of the biggest rivalries in college football, so I want to see what I’m going to be up against.”

Pollard was last on campus for the game against Washington in September and has been keeping a close eye on Michigan’s defense throughout the fall.

“I’ve been very impressed,” Pollard said. “They defensive backs have been playing really well. DJ Turner has been balling. They have the best two pass rushers in college football right now. When you have pressure like that, it makes it way easier for the defensive backs. They’ve been feeding off each other. I really like the way they’ve been playing.”

Pollard added that he’s been especially impressed with his former high school teammate and star freshman linebacker Junior Colson.

“Junior was built for this,” Pollard said. “I never doubted he would play as a freshman. He’s been phenomenal. Each week I see another Freshman of the Week. I’m very happy for him. We lived down the street from each other our whole lives, so it’s great to see.”

At 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, Pollard is ranked as the No. 49 cornerback and No. 527 overall prospect nationally, per the On3 Consensus.
