Michigan Wolverines football has 17 preseason All-Big Ten selections, according to Athlon Sports (first team through fourth team). Here’s a dive into how that stacks up with the rest of the league.

Michigan’s 17 choices are second to only Ohio State (20). Penn State (13), Iowa (12) and Illinois (11) all have double digits. Michigan State (5), Purdue (5), Rutgers (5) and Northwestern (3) are at the bottom of the league with five or fewer.

The Maize and Blue have seven first-team honorees, second only to Ohio State’s eight. Only four teams besides the Wolverines and Buckeyes even have multiple first-team selections — Penn State (4), Iowa (3), Illinois (3) and Wisconsin (3).
