TheWolverine.com’s Chris Balas and Clayton Sayfie bring you this edition of Inside The Fort, which features plenty of Michigan Wolverines football and recruiting intel ahead of the team’s final regular-season game against Ohio State.

We begin with some intel on the officiating crew (a familiar one) for Saturday’s game, before moving into what we’ve heard about practice this week, a potential increase in pay for Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh and recruiting notes. We finish with insight on the Buckeyes from one who covers them on a day-to-day basis.

Michigan is now a 7.5-point underdog pretty much across the board, with most analysts predicting a comfortable Ohio State win.

Don’t tell that to the Wolverines. They’ve had a “great week of practice,” the best of the year in preparation for this one, and they feel great about their game plan.

Of course, as Mike Tyson once said, ‘everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth,’ and we expect the Buckeyes to come out swinging. Flat out, they’ve taken this game more seriously than the Wolverines too often, and the emphasis this season was to change that.

And Michigan has, regardless of what happens Saturday. Aidan Hutchinson has been at the forefront, but Jim Harbaugh has made it clear, too. There’s a lot at stake for him personally, including huge bonuses for beating the Buckeyes, making the Big Ten title game and winning the conference.

Win, and all that is still on the table (with a good chunk of change in his pocket). Lose, and the Rose Bowl is the consolation prize barring a Wisconsin (most likely) upset of Ohio State in the Big Ten title game. As noted last week, the folks in Pasadena really want the Wolverines back.
