Tweets Of The Day
Before former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh coaches his first regular season game with his new team, he’ll head back to Ann Arbor to be recognized. Harbaugh is slated to be the Wolverines’ honorary captain for their season opener against Fresno State Aug. 31 at The Big House.
“I look forward to having him back in Ann Arbor for that game,” Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said on the ‘1 Star Recruits’ podcast.
Harbaugh led Michigan to the 2023 national championship, with the Wolverines finishing 15-0. He spent nine seasons in Ann Arbor from 2015-23. He also played for the Wolverines in the 1980s, earning All-America and Heisman Trophy finalist honors.
“My love for Michigan, playing there and coming back to coach there, leaves a lasting impact. I’ll always be a loyal Wolverine,” Harbaugh said after leaving for the Chargers.
Michigan junior cornerback Will Johnson has continually been praised as one of the top players in the sport.
Michigan senior right guard Giovanni El-Hadi says it’s now his “turn.” He waited in the wings, turned down the opportunity to transfer and prepared himself for this moment he has ahead of himself in 2024.
Quote Of The Day
““Bruh, he’s seen a lot. He said to us the other day, he was like, ‘How many huddles do you think I’ve seen broken before’ since his career. Bro, it’s probably like 400-some huddles he’s seen broken, so one thing he brings is knowledge. I’m just gonna say: This defense is gonna be scary, for real. Nobody is gonna know where it’s coming from, nobody is going to know what we’re doing. It’s gonna be so fun. Everybody is gonna have a turn to eat. Everybody is gonna have stats. It’s gonna be fun — so fun.”
