Michigan Wolverines football junior linebacker Junior Colson has signed an NIL deal with Randy Wise Automotive, the company announced Tuesday evening. Valiant Management, run by former Michigan player Jared Wangler, is representing Colson.

Randy Wise has now partnered with seven members of the Michigan football team, with the others being junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy, sophomore wide receiver Darrius Clemons, sophomore defensive tackle Mason Graham, sophomore EDGE Derrick Moore, sophomore tight end Colston Loveland and junior running back Tavierre Dunlap.

“Since the growth of their NIL partnership with Valiant, Randy Wise and Michigan football teamed up in July of 2022 to volunteer their efforts with the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Flint and United Way of Genesee County,” a Randy Wise release read. “In addition, Randy Wise has made a charitable donation to J.J.’s For The Kids Foundation.”

Randy Wise will team up with Colson on “various marketing and charitable ventures over the course of the next two years.”

A star on the Michigan defense, Colson was a freshman All-American in 2021 and broke out as a full-time starter in 2022. In helping lead the Wolverines to a Big Ten title and 13-1 record, he recorded 101 tackles, 6 for loss, 2 sacks and 1 pass breakup. He’s looking to make an even bigger jump this coming fall.

“Next step is to be the best,” Colson said with a smile. “Next step is to be the best out there. The next step is to be an All-American. The next step is to take my game to a whole new level.

Colson has a $59,000 On3 NIL Valuation, the 15th-highest on the team. He was recently featured in a local Super Bowl commercial for the Mike Morse Law Firm.

“The Randy Wise Team is excited to continually work with Valiant and grow the NIL program at the University,” Chris Wise, Vice President of the Randy Wise Automotive Team, said in a statement. “We have now helped a number of student athletes with their automotive needs and expand their own brand and marketing capabilities. It’s been a lot of fun working together, and we are committed to being one of the leaders and best in this space!”

“The NIL rule change has opened up great opportunities for college athletes from all over the country. I am excited to align myself with a great family owned Michigan brand,” Wangler said.

Founded in 1989, Randy Wise has eight locations and 13 brands. It’s the largest automotive group donor to a United Way in the state of Michigan.
