Photos: Top-100 Georgia commit Shamari Earls on Michigan visit
Michigan Wolverines football notched its third straight victory over in-state opponent Michigan State, improving to 5-3 with the 24-17 victory Saturday night at The Big House.
It was a huge recruiting weekend for the Maize and Blue, who hosted both commits and targets in the 2025 and 2026 classes, in addition to others.
Top 100 Georgia CB commit Shamari Earls
The biggest news surrounding the Michigan visit weekend was the Saturday morning arrival of 2025 Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls, a Georgia commit who’s trending to the Wolverines.
While there was buzz that Earls was trending toward Michigan earlier in the week, Georgia was still making a run at keeping him. Once he arrived on campus at Michigan for his unofficial visit, though, predictions started to roll in.
Both On3’s Steve Wiltfong and The Wolverine’s EJ Holland placed predictions for Michigan to flip Earls, the No. 23 overall player in the country per On3.
Here are some photos from The Wolverine’s Lon Horwedel of Earls, who’s seen taking selfies with Michigan fans, walking onto the field and hanging out with Wolverine tight end commit Eli Owens, a top recruiter in the class.
2026 top-100 RB Savion Hiter
2026 Mineral (Va.) Lousa County four-star running back Savion Hiter is one of the most coveted players in the 2026 class, not just for Michigan but for other programs across the country. The 5-11.5, 190-pounder is ranked by On3 as the No. 20 overall player in the nation, the top-rated running back.
While the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine places home state Virginia as the slight favorite to land his services, Michigan, Ohio State, Georgia and others are firmly in the mix.
