Michigan’s offense came out strong in driving all the way down the field on the first possession but settled for a field goal. The Wolverines had less than 100 yards of offense at halftime.
“We came out strong, they adjusted, and we just didn’t execute,” Warren said. “It really just comes down to that. You can talk the talk about wanting to start faster, wanting to do this, wanting to do that. But at the end of the day, you gotta go do. And we didn’t do enough in the first half there, gotta get the wheels churning again and I think it falls on me as a quarterback, it falls on the whole offense. We started together a little bit, but the defense was on the field too much, and we were putting Zeke and the rest of the boys in a tough spot. We gotta find ways to make plays and be better.”
Warren discussed the points of emphasis for Michigan during its second bye week. The Maize and Blue have two regular season clashes left, home against Northwestern and road at Ohio State.
“Attention to detail, discipline, all the stuff we talk about,” Warren said. “And staying together as a team. No pointing fingers, just look in the mirror, figure out what you need to do better physically and mentally, because we got two games left, and I know we got a lot of guys with grit, a lot of guys that care and a lot of guys that aren’t gonna go down without a fight. These last few games, we’re gonna give it everything we got, and we know the opportunities we still have in front of us.”

Warren said he felt Michigan should’ve been able to hold up its end of the bargain offensively given how well the defense played.
“100 percent. Defense fought their butts off there in the second half,” the Michigan signal caller said. “I think that was one of the highest-scoring offenses in the country, and held them to, whatever, 20 points or something. So, yeah, left some plays out there in the red zone. Left a couple out there on third down.
“I gotta make a better throw there to [sophomore wide receiver] Kendrick [Bell] and give him a better chance to pick up the first, because we had an opportunity.
