On3 RPM: Michigan now leads for these recruits after big visit weekend...
Michigan hosted several recruits for its win over rival Michigan State over the weekend.
Here is a closer look at targets the Wolverines now lead for, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine.
CB Shamari Earls, Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale (2025)
Michigan is trending to flip Earls following his weekend trip to Ann Arbor. The Top 100 Georgia cornerback commit has been pretty happy with his pledge to the Bulldogs. However, Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan has gone all in on Earls and continued to make him a top target even after he sided with UGA. Michigan impressed Earls on his visit this weekend and has the lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 43.1 percent chance of flipping him. The Wolverines are pushing an opportunity for early playing time and are hoping to complete the flip soon. Earls, who is an early enrollee, has drawn comparisons to Will Johnson and could be an immediate impact player for U-M.

RB Savion Hiter, Mineral (Va.) Louisa County (2026)
Michigan now has the lead for Hiter on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine with a 26.4 percent chance of landing him. Ranked as the No. 1 running back in the country for next cycle, per On3, Hiter is one of Michigan’s top overall targets in the 2026 recruiting class. Hiter visited Michigan twice this offseason and loved his first game day experience. Michigan running backs coach Tony Alford recruited Hiter as a young prospect during his time at Ohio State, and the two have built up an extremely strong bond. Michigan is in Hiter’s Top 5 along with Georgia, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee. Hiter is looking to make a decision next summer.
LB Phillip Goodrich, Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas (2026)
Goodrich is not currently ranked, but he is a prospect the Wolverines like for next cycle. Michigan has a healthy lead on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine following his weekend visit with a 62.0 percent chance of landing him. Goodrich has ties to the university as his great grandfather attended U-M. In fact, Goodrich grew up going to Michigan games and visited on multiple occasions before earning an offer at one of U-M’s on campus camps in June. If Michigan pushes hard for Goodrich next cycle, it would be surprising if he didn’t end up in the class. Indiana, South Florida, Wake Forest and others are also involved here.
