Earls Recruitment
New Michigan secondary coach LaMar Morgan made Earls a top overall priority shortly after arriving in Ann Arbor.
Michigan made a strong push to flip Earls from South Carolina but ultimately lost out to Georgia back in the summer. However, Morgan never gave up on Earls and continued to push for him throughout the fall.
Earls made his way to Michigan last weekend for the game against Michigan State. It was there where the Wolverines were able to seal the deal.
Here is what Holland had to say about the flip.
“This is a massive recruiting win for Michigan, Holland said. “Earls is a borderline five-star recruit on On3 and has an opportunity to come in and start right away. He’s the best cornerback prospect I’ve covered since Will Johnson. Like Will, Earls is a big, physical corner. He also has verified track times. Morgan did a fantastic job of staying on Earls and winning him over.”
