Wolverine TV: Game clips of Rivals300 Michigan WR commit Travis Johnson

The Wolverine’s EJ Holland was recently at Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith and saw Rivals300 Michigan wide receiver commit Travis Johnson in game action.

Johnson Recruitment

Michigan extended an offer to Johnson last year and made him a top priority at the wide receiver position.

Johnson took his official visit to U-M on June 13. The Wolverines began to trend on the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine shortly after his stay in Ann Arbor.

Johnson committed to Michigan on July 4 over North Carolina, Penn State, South Carolina and others.

Here is what Holland had to say about Johnson.

“Johnson definitely offers size at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds,” Holland said. “He can go up and get it, but he also bends well getting in and out of breaks and showed some explosiveness when I saw him. Michigan did a great job in his recruitment. I put in a prediction shortly after his official visit, and the Wolverines sealed the deal.”

At 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Johnson is ranked as the No. 15 wide receiver and No. 134 overall prospect nationally, per the Rivals Industry Ranking. He is also ranked as the No. 3 overall recruit in the state of Virginia for this cycle.
