TheWolverine.com‘s Clayton Sayfie and Anthony Broome discuss storylines for the Michigan Wolverines football spring game (Saturday at 3 p.m. ET on Big Ten Network), Michigan basketball landing transfer guard Nimari Burnett and more on this episode of the podcast.

Sayfie and Broome draft Michigan spring game storylines, going back and forth. Broome had the first pick and went with the cornerback position, featuring sophomore Amorion Walker.

“This is a guy who’s 6-3, 6-4, [with] elite athleticism and agility,” Broome noted. “He’s someone that we thought might crack the rotation at wide receiver. Turns out, coaching staff wants to give him a shot at cornerback. [Head coach] Jim Harbaugh went as far as to call him one of the starters on the roster as early as two or three practices in. They’re happy with what they’ve seen out of him. I think he’s going to play a lot [in the spring game on Saturday].”

Sayfie kept it simple and went with junior quarterback J.J. McCarthy as his first Michigan spring game storyline.

“Watching what he does, seeing him out there with his added 10-15 pounds, how he’s moving around,” Sayfie said of what he’ll be interested to see out of the Michigan signal-caller. “He’s not going to be live, he’s not going to get hit. He may scramble, and if someone gets close to him and they blow the whistle, they’ll give him 5 yards or whatever it would be. But I just want to see him out there, see the chemistry with his receivers, see him maybe lead a touchdown drive.”
