NC State basketball trailed at the half to Texas Southern, and then had to play the final 15 minutes of the game without senior forward Jericole Hellems, but it found a way to pull away in the final 10 minutes to prevail 65-57 over the Tigers.

NC State was once again led by redshirt sophomore forward Dereon Seabron, who had his fourth double-double of the year by scoring 21 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Sophomore guard Cam Hayes joined Seabron in double-digit scoring with 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field. Hayes and Seabron both added four assists in the game, team-high for NC State, while Hayes did not turn it over.

The Wolfpack improved to 4-1 on the season while Texas Southern, who made last season’s NCAA Tournament is 0-5. All five of its defeats have been on the road, and the last four by single digits.

Below is the full box score from the NC State basketball win. It will return to action next Saturday at PNC Arena against Louisiana Tech with a 2 p.m. tipoff. The game will be broadcast online on ACC Network Extra.
