NC State football recruiting commits in action — Week 13

Here is a recap of how the NC State football recruiting commitments performed this past week. All games were played last Friday unless otherwise noted.

On3 Consensus four-star running back Michael Allen from Greenville (N.C.) J.H. Rose High

Last Game: In a 34-28 home win over visiting Fayetteville (N.C.) Terry Sanford High during the second round of the 3-A state playoffs, Allen ran 12 times for 115 yards and two touchdowns.

Season Stats: Through 12 games, Allen had 106 carries for 835 yards and 12 scores, and 26 catches for 502 yards and seven touchdowns.

Team Record: 8-4.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive lineman Nick Campbell from Lake Minneola (Fla.) High

Last Game: Lake Minneola’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Campbell had 47 tackles (13 solo), including 12 for loss and five sacks, and forced a pair of fumbles.

Team Record: 6-4.

On3 Consensus four-star defensive lineman Brandon Cleveland from Tampa (Fla.) Carrollwood Day

Last Game: Carrollwood Day lost 26-25 to visiting Tampa (Fla.) Catholic in the first round of the Florida 3-A playoffs.

Season stats: In nine games during the regular season, Cleveland had 50 tackles (31 solo), including 26 for loss and eight sacks. He added five quarterback hurries, an interception and two pass breakups.

Team Record: 7-3.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive back Isaiah Crowell from Kernersville (N.C.) East Forsyth High

Last Game: In a 17-0 road win over Charlotte (N.C.) Ardrey Kell High in the second round of the 4-A state playoffs, Crowell had four tackles (two solos), including a sack, plus a quarterback hurry and two pass breakups.

Season Stats: Crowell has 84 tackles (35 solo), including 12 for a loss and four sacks, plus an interception, six pass breakups, two QB hurries and two blocked kicks in 11 games.

Team Record: 10-1 and ranked No. 3 in the state by MaxPreps.com.

On3 Consensus three-star running back Bennett Galloway from Chapin (S.C.) High

Last Game: Galloway did not play in a 44-14 loss to Charleston (S.C.) Fort Dorchester High during the second round of the AAAAA state playoffs.

Season Stats: Galloway rushed for 16 touchdowns, made six TD catches, eturned a kickoff for a score and had 1,094 yards rushing for the year in 11 games.

Team Record: 8-4.

On3 Consensus three-star defensive lineman D.J. Jackson from Sumter (S.C.) High

Last Game: Sumter won 28-7 at home over Goose Creek (S.C.) Stratford High in the second round of the AAAAA playoffs. Jackson will not play this season after having surgery in August to repair a torn ACL.

Team Record: 10-1 and ranked No. 11 in Division AAAAA.

On3 Consensus three-star quarterback MJ Morris from Carrollton (Ga.) High

Last Game: Morris completed 9 of 17 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown, and ran 11 times for 183 yards and a score during a 47-28 home win over Canton (Ga.) Creekview High in a game played on Saturday, Nov. 13. The game was part of the first round of the Class AAAAAA state playoffs.

Note: Morris was selected as a finalist for Mr. Georgia by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta.

Season stats: In 11 games, Morris has completed 152 of 239 passes (63.6 percent) for 2,551 yards and 29 touchdowns with eight picks, and rushed 76 times for 466 yards and six scores.

Morris is 16th in the state of Georgia in passing yards and tied for 10th in scoring tosses.

Team Record: 10-1 and ranked No. 3 in the state at the Class AAAAAA level.

Class of 2023 quarterback Lex Thomas from Wake Forest (N.C.) Heritage High

Last Game: Heritage’s season ended with a 56-24 loss at Raleigh Cardinal Gibbons in the second round of the 4-A state playoffs. Thomas ran for a touchdown in the defeat.

Season Stats: In 11 games prior to Cardinal Gibbons, Thomas was 167-of-263 passing (63.5 percent) for 2,492 yards and 30 touchdowns with seven interceptions, and he has also rushed for a pair of scores.

Team Record: 10-2.

On3 Consensus three-star linebacker Daejuan Thompson from Whiteville (N.C.) High

Last Game: Another week, another Whiteville rout. It rolled with a second straight 56-0 win, this time over visiting Warsaw (N.C.) James Kenan High in the second round of the 2-A state playoffs.

Thompson and his teammates have won their last seven games by a combined score of 428-26.

Note: Thompson was selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas roster for North Carolina.

The annual game featuring the top senior players from North Carolina against South Carolina was canceled earlier in the fall due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but organizers elected to honor those who would have been selected to participate.

Team Record: 11-0.

On3 Consensus three-star receiver Terrell Timmons Jr. from Greensboro (N.C.) Northern Guilford High

Last Game: Northern Guilford’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Timmons caught 38 passes for 549 yards and 11 touchdowns, and returned 28 punts for an average of 10.5 yards and two scores. He also returned five kickoffs for a an average of 25.2 yards.

Note: Timmons was selected to Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas roster.

Team Record: 9-2.

On3 Consensus three-star center Rylan Vann from Cary (N.C.) High

Last Game: Cary (N.C.) High’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: Vann had 36 tackles (14 solo), including seven for loss and 1.5 sacks, and has forced a fumble and recovered one.

Note: Vann was selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas roster.

Team Record: 3-7.

On3 Consensus three-star corner Jackson Vick from Bailey (N.C.) Southern Nash

Last Game: Southern Nash lost at Sanford (N.C.) Lee County High, 42-24, in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs.

Season Stats: In 10 games prior to Lee County, Vick rushed 138 times for 1,211 yards and 16 touchdowns, and caught eight passes for 200 yards and four scores. He also had a 91-yard kickoff return for a score, and on defense he had 13 tackles (five solo and one for a loss) and a pick.

Team Record: 9-2.

On3 Consensus four-star linebacker Torren Wright from Kannapolis (N.C.) A.L. Brown High

Last Game: A.L. Brown’s season had previously ended.

Season Stats: In 10 games, Wright had 116 tackles, including 71 solo, 13 for loss and four sacks. He also had seven QB hurries, three interceptions and six pass breakups.

Team Record: 5-5.
